The Case for Volume
Why Fall 2026 was cut wide, and what a curved seam does that a straight one cannot.

Volume is the first decision of the season. Before color, before material, before any garment is cut, the house decides how much air a body is allowed to carry. Fall 2026 was drawn wide — not loose, which is an accident, but wide, which is a position.
The curved-seam trouser is the clearest statement of it. The outseam does not fall in a straight line from hip to floor; it bows outward through the thigh and returns at the ankle. Worn still, the leg reads as a single sculpted column. Worn walking, the fabric moves a half-step behind the body.
“A straight seam describes a leg. A curved seam describes the space around it.”
A straight seam describes a leg. A curved seam describes the space around it. This is the difference between a garment that fits and a garment that is composed.
Everything above the waist was then drawn back. The cropped heavyweight tee ends at the hip bone so that the trouser has somewhere to begin. Nothing in the wardrobe competes for the same inch of the body twice.
